Our perfumes are inspired by the splendour of Positano and the Amalfi Coast. Each fragrance has its own story and is made with natural essences and ingredients of the finest quality, preferring those of local origin. Each one is made exclusively by hand in a local artisanal laboratory with singular care.

OUR STORY

POSITANO ESSENTIAE is a creative project that was born from a story of friendship and love, from the desire and the courage to turn dreams into reality.

We introduce ourselves: Manuela and Roberto, sister and brother, are second-generation pharmacists in Positano; Katya, friend to one and wife to the other, was at the peak of her financial career in London when, driven by love and enchanted by the magic of Positano, she decided to follow her heart. Roberto welcomed her in his arms.

One may say that it was not the very beginning… It’s true, our story would have never happened if, in 1976 Gaetano Rizzo, a pharmacist with a prominent carrier in a multinational company based in Rome had accepted a lucrative job offer in Latin America. However, he did not. Instead, he went to buy a historic pharmacy in Positano. After a while, he moved there with his wife, Elisabetta, and two kids, Manuela and Roberto. As it happens with family businesses, the kids grew up in the pharmacy, learning the profession from the early age.

After graduating in pharmacology and having worked for various companies in the field, Manuela and Roberto came back to Positano to continue the family tradition.

In 2013, pursuing our fascination with a holistic beauty and skin care, we launched Positano Cosmetics –a high-quality dermo skin care based on natural ingredients. We then worked to research and produce our sun care essentials and scented body care. However, it was not until our meeting with a maestro-perfumer of great fame that a new Chapter and a new passion began: the creation of artisanal fragrances, inspired by our land. POSITANO ESSENTIAE was born.

Pharmacy Rizzo remains a historic pharmacy located in the heart of Positano.
